Three UNHCR staffers plead “not guilty”

    NAIROBI
    Three UNHCR staff members on Monday pleaded “not guilty” to charges that they had extorted money from refugees seeking resettlement in Kenya, a UN statement said. The three, all locally hired staff, had been arrested last Thursday. They were also charged with threatening UNHCR and the US Embassy officials, a UN spokesman said. They entered their plea during an appearance before the chief magistrate’s court in Nairobi.
