Jammeh meets MFDC representative

    ABIDJAN
    Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh held talks on Friday in Banjul with a representative of a group fighting for self-rule for southern Senegal’s Casamance region since 1982, PANA reported. Bertrand Diamacoune of the Mouvement des forces democratiques de Casamance (MFDC) told reporters he was on a consultative mission aimed at restoring peace in the region. The MFDC and the Senegalese government signed two peace accords on 16 and 23 March. However violence has continued in the Casamance.
