Le parlement vote à 56 voix contre 5 pour la prorogation de l'état d'urgence

Le parlement de la Sierra Leone a voté à 56 voix contre 5 vendredi en faveur de la prorogation de six mois de l'état d'urgence dans le pays, selon des informations diffusées par les médias. Il y avait en outre deux abstentions et sept absents, a rapporté Sierra Leone Web, en citant la BBC.

L'état d'urgence avait été décrété au début de 1998 après que la force régionale ouest-africaine ait rétabli le gouvernement d'Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, élu en 1996 et renversé lors d'un coup d'état vers le milieu de 1997.
